Three Is a Match Review – Sisters, Secrets, and One Unexpected Love Story

Hey guys, I just watched a really refreshing Nollywood movie titled Three Is a Match and I had to come here and share the full gist. If you’ve ever had an overprotective sibling or you’re part of a tight-knit family, this movie will definitely hit home. It’s a mix of love, laughter, drama, and just the right amount of chaos. Let’s get into it.

So the movie centers around Gozie, played by Uzor Arukwe. Gozie is a loving but extremely overprotective older brother who basically runs his sisters’ lives. And I mean literally, he tracks their periods, monitors their phones, assigns drivers to pick and drop them, and gives them curfews like they’re in boarding school. His intentions are good, but he doesn’t understand that his sisters are growing women who want some freedom.

The three sisters all bring something unique to the table:

Amara is the eldest. She’s calm, thoughtful, and clearly tired of always being monitored. She tries to maintain peace but you can tell she wants more independence.

Nkiru is the rule-breaker and the funniest of

the bunch. Her character had so much personality, and her wild ideas are what keep the story interesting. Honestly, she carried the film for me.

Chioma is the baby of the family. She’s sweet, reserved, and always caught in the middle. But when she speaks up, it matters.

When the sisters hear that Gozie is going on a trip, they’re beyond excited. Freedom at last, But their joy is short-lived when the trip gets canceled. At this point, they’ve had enough. They decide to get their brother a girlfriend so he’ll focus less on them and give them some breathing space.

That’s when the drama really begins. They start introducing their friends to Gozie. One friend sneaks into his room at night to seduce him which he locks himself in the bathroom. Another one tries to do some kind of midnight ritual to get him to marry her. It was hilarious and shocking at the same time.

Then enters Isoken, Nkiru’s friend. She’s calm, respectful, and clearly makes an impression on Gozie. They start to fall for each other naturally. But when the sisters realize Gozie is becoming more serious with Isoken and giving them less attention, they panic. They tell Isoken to back off and reveal that the whole thing was a plan to distract Gozie.

What they don’t know is that Gozie overheard everything. He feels betrayed and heartbroken. The sisters eventually apologize, and after some time, he forgives them and rekindles things with Isoken.

Character Analysis & Ratings

Gozie (Uzor Arukwe) – 9/10

Uzor really delivered on this one. His character was annoying but lovable, and he showed real emotional depth.

Amara – 7/10

She didn’t have as much screen time as the others, but she brought maturity and calmness to the family chaos.

Nkiru – 10/10

A total scene-stealer. She was funny, expressive, and always doing something unexpected.

Chioma – 7.5/10

She was quiet but effective. Her innocence balanced out her sisters’ madness.

Isoken – 8/10

A soft, sensible character. She came in with grace and stole Gozie’s heart without even trying.

My Final Rating:

I’ll give Three Is a Match a strong 8.5/10. The story was refreshing, the characters were well-developed, and the acting was genuinely impressive. It’s a movie about love both romantic and familial, and the importance of balance in relationships. Highly recommended if you’re in the mood for a feel-good Nigerian drama with heart and humor.
